Added: Game :)

It has begun...

I've released this early alpha build so that you guys can play the game as I make it. This project is meant to be, in part, about its own construction, and it'd feel wrong if you weren't able to be there for that process, so I hope you enjoy watching this game slowly being constructed into the beast it will become!

  • Controls:  I added movement and a semipermanent interaction system.
  • Levels:  I added level 0 and a portion of level 1 to the game, as well as 3 NPCs which you can find throughout the levels.
  • Dialogue:  The dialogue system is meant to be easier in some ways and harder in others. The first NPC states that it's become harder to talk, and this is reflected in having different buttons for interaction and continuing dialogue. The idea is for it to be slightly inconvenient, but to later be much more useful for puzzles since you still have full access to movement buttons while talking to NPCs.
  • Shaders:  It's hard to tell, but the game is supposed to have a pixelated shader. I was able to get this to work in Godot, but for some reason it doesn't work on itch.io. I'll be working to fix this in future versions.
  • Appearance:  The game's visuals are very rudimentary right now, and this is partially purposeful and partially meant to be a guide for future level design.  I want the earlier levels to look more rudimentary because it gives off a nice sense of progress as you go along as well as showing off the creation process. I will likely fix the whole falling into the void forever thing though. I feel like it'll get old by the time the game is finished lol.
  • Gameplay: This game is not meant to be difficult really, but it is meant to be grueling. I know walking simulators have a bad reputation but I wanted this to feel somewhat like a hiking simulator or a journey simulator. It's meant to give you plenty of room to think and take in the views, but I also don't want it to be boring. I'll be working with your feedback to figure out what I should change between versions, so please comment your suggestions below!
  • Final Notes:  This is one of my first games, and my first game released using Godot, so I'm certainly still learning. I have a creative vision for it, but ultimately it's meant to be about me learning as I go. I have an end goal in mind and ideas for how to get there, but all feedback is welcome, especially from players and other Godot game devs that want to offer their insight!

If you guys wanna support this kind of thing, please consider making a donation or checking out my Ko-Fi. I have a lot going on right now, but I'd love to get to the point where I can focus on making games or at least some kind of art for you guys. You can find the Ko-Fi here: https://ko-fi.com/quest4conquest/tiers

Thank you so much to my one and only Ko-Fi member: Mer!

Your support means so much to me, and I hope that this game can show that to you.
